Terri Johnson (Owner and Director)
Terri has taught dance for 32
years! She got her teaching experience through teaching at
Kay's Dancers for 8 1/2 years. Terri has owned and directed
T.J. Dance Factory for going on 24 years. She has taught and
choreographed many high point, award winning, dances for
competitions. Terri has also been a judge for several dance
competitions and tryouts.

Mary Rae
Mary Rae
began her love of dance at the age of three. She studied jazz and
tap for 19 years under Teri Wilkerson at Dance Discovery
Studios. After she began teaching,
she soon expanded her performance experience to Musical
Theater atMcMurry
University. She was a member of
Chameleon jazz company for 3 years until she moved to
Austin to pursue a degree at
Texas State University. While there, Mary Rae
had the privilege of being a Strutter under the direction of
Barbara Tidwell.
After receiving a degree in Interior Design, she moved
to
San Antonio
where she continues to share
her excitement and love of tap with her students.

Emily Moore
Emily
grew up in Brownsville Texas and has danced since she was 4
years old. She recieved her dance training from Juan Jose
Burgos and Diana Hastings Morris.Emily also attended a
variety of dance workshops in Texas and Los Angeles. She
was a member of the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet and has
choreographed many award winning solos, duets and group
numbers for local and national competitions. Emily is
currently a Kindergarten teacher for the Northside Independent
School District and a jazz and lyrical teacher for TJ's Dance
Factory.

Andrea
Guerra
Andrea began dance
lessons at the age of three. For the past nine years she had
studied under the studio direction of Billie Fielden and was
taught by Nancy Smith at the Performing Arts School of
Classical Ballet. She has attended various workshops in
Kerville and San Antonio taught by company ballet
members from the Austin and Russian Ballet. In 2007 she
attended a two-week summer intensive at Ballet Magnificat in
Jackson, Missisippi and was placed in level 8 (out of 10). She
will be attending UTSA in the fall of 2008. She looks forward
to sharing her passion and love of dance with her
students. |

Tara
Smartnick
Tara Smartnick is
originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from the
Public Academy for Performing Arts where she majored in dance
and video editing.
She has been studying dance from the age of three
and holds National titles in team dance, solo work, ballroom
and for her own choreography. Tara has awards in the
areas of contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, pom,
mambo, cha cha, rhumba, swing, salsa, tango, and bolero. She earned
2nd place and a college scholarship for her ballet
solo at the Contest of Champions Nationals in Orlando, Florida
in 2003. After
winning 1st place in Junior American Rhythm at
People’s Choice 2005 in Arizona, Tara and her partner were
invited to join the Junior Olympic Ballroom team. Later that year, Tara
was one of 15 dancers chosen from around the US to participate
in JJ Villar's, "The Road to Hollywood”, held in Los Angeles,
California where she was able to study and perform many forms
of dance all around Los Angeles. She moved to San
Antonio, Texas in 2006 and is currently studying media arts
and multimedia technology at Northwest Vista College. Tara dances
professionally with several different companies in San Antonio
where she is able to teach and perform all over the
Southwest.
